With the release of Modern Warfare II just around the corner, many are curious about the new features and improvements Infinity Ward is bringing to the table. If you’re wondering about the updates and innovations, here’s the scoop!
New Gameplay Mechanics and Features
Environment and Movement
Modern Warfare II’s multiplayer maps are designed with tight, intense layouts. Players will also get to explore these mechanics in Warzone 2, using the environment to their advantage in a more expansive setting.
Ladders & Ropes
– Ladders: You can place ladders vertically against walls, containers, and buildings. However, if they aren’t supported properly, they can fall and break, causing the Field Upgrade to reset.
– Ropes: Use ropes to rappel down and scale buildings. While rappelling, you can swing through windows or into collapsed walls. You can also attach ropes to vehicles and players for quick escapes.
Movement Mechanics
– Shifting & Strafing: Move sideways and backwards to dodge threats or reposition yourself for a better view and advantage.
– Wall-Climb: Climb vertically up walls, depending on the height of the platform you’re aiming to reach.
– Ledge-Hanging: Grab onto ledges to reach difficult platforms and reduce fall damage. You can also use your sidearm while hanging.
– Sliding: Now slide into a prone position and down slopes more effectively.
– Bunny-Hopping: Gain more speed the higher you fall from to enhance your bunny-hop.
Gameplay Enhancements
Quick Sidearm Draw and Suppressor Meter
– Exigency Hip-Fire: Quickly switch to your sidearm with one hand. This can also be done with lethal equipment.
– Suppressor Meter: Adjust the size of suppressors to balance recoil, damage, and range.
Weapon Handling and Designs
– Grips: Choose from a variety of grips like Magwell Grip and C-Clamp Grip, affecting the accuracy and speed of your weapon handling.
– Magazine Check Animation: In modes with limited HUDs, you can inspect your weapon’s magazine count.
– Reticle Ammunition Count: Some designs now display ammo count directly on the reticles, particularly for revolvers and shotguns.
The introduction of these features and mechanics means players will have new strategies to learn and master, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
