Exploring the KIWI Design Comfort Battery Audio Head Strap: A Comprehensive Review

The Meta Quest 2 has been my favorite VR headset since it launched in 2020. It offered a great entry into VR gaming at an affordable price. Fast forward to 2023, and there still isn’t a headset that matches its technical capabilities for the price.

However, the Meta Quest 2 isn’t perfect when it comes to comfort and audio. The built-in speakers are lacking, and the Velcro strap becomes uncomfortable during long gaming sessions.

That’s where the KIWI design comfort battery audio head strap comes in. This 3-in-1 solution includes a battery pack, headphones, and a comfort strap to address these issues.

What Does The KIWI Design Comfort Battery Audio Head Strap Do?
Before diving into the product itself, let’s look at what KIWI design aims to improve:
1. Easier, more adjustable comfort for wearing the headset.
2. Better audio experience with built-in headphones featuring improved ear cushioning.
3. Extended battery life for longer gaming sessions.

Setup and Installation
One of my main issues with the KIWI head strap is the lack of detailed instructions for installation. I had to rely on a YouTube tutorial to replace the original Meta Quest 2 headrest with the KIWI design strap. While the process is straightforward once you know how it works, a QR code or a better visual guide in the box would have been helpful.

Exploring the 3-in-1 Solution

The Headphones: Dedicated VR Sound
The first noticeable feature is the headphones, which have grey faux leather cushions and ample foam for comfort. They can be adjusted for a better fit and use a short 3.5mm pin to connect to the Meta Quest 2, eliminating the need for extra cables.

Compared to the original speakers, these headphones offer much clearer and more immersive sound, enhancing the VR experience significantly. Games like Half-Life: Alyx feel more alive thanks to better sound isolation and natural surround sound.

Though they’re not better than high-end dedicated headphones, they offer a significant upgrade over the built-in speakers and save you the hassle of connecting third-party headphones.

Battery Pack: Extended Play Times
As someone who has spent around 1000 hours on BeatSaber, running out of battery is a frequent issue. The KIWI design battery pack solves this by allowing you to charge the Meta Quest 2 via an already connected USB-C port. While you do have to charge the battery pack itself, it significantly extends gaming sessions.

With the KIWI design comfort battery audio head strap, the Meta Quest 2 becomes a much more comfortable and immersive VR experience, addressing key issues in audio, comfort, and battery life.
