AION Classic has rolled out a fresh update (2.5) that introduces a new instance called the Crucible Challenge. Let’s break down what you can expect whether you’re an Elyos or an Asmodian.
What is the Crucible Challenge?
The Crucible Challenge is a solo training simulation for Daevas between Levels 50-55, featuring illusions to help you level up and earn valuable rewards. Elyos warriors can sign up at the Kaisinel Academy in Sanctum, while Asmodians should head to the Marchutan Priory in Pandaemonium.
Mechanics
The Crucible Challenge unfolds in a single arena that changes with each visit thanks to creative illusory magic. You’ll need to conquer six stages, split into several rounds, by defeating all monsters and talking to the Recordkeeper to advance. Here’s a tip: Take a short break between stages before speaking to the Recordkeeper.
Your score increases with each monster you defeat. The higher your score, the better the rewards at the end. Be aware that you can’t use respawning skills or items here. If you fall, you can use a Worthiness Ticket to keep fighting but any unused tickets will disappear once the training ends.
You can exit the Crucible Challenge anytime by clicking the “Stop Training” button at the top right of your screen. You are allowed one entry per week, with the instance resetting every Wednesday at 9 AM CET.
The Phases
– First Stage: You’ll face different aggressive plant species. Clear them and take down the Grissil of Verdure to move forward.
– Second Stage: Prepare for either hostile birds or vicious Kerubs and Spriggs. Survive, and you’ll unlock a bonus round to rescue Poppy from the Dukaki Cooks for special rewards.
– Third Stage: This phase tests your tactical skills against a group of monsters followed by their leader, who might be Haramel or Kaliga with his minions in the Nightmare.
– Fourth Stage: A bonus round mini-game appears where Administrator Arminos offers three chests. Pick wisely for a reward.
– Fifth Stage: Face familiar faces from Sanctum and Pandaemonium. Defeat them to earn the right to face the final boss.
– Final Stage: Battle Vanktrist Spacetwine, who will push you to your limits. If you succeed, you’ll win prizes like wings, Balic materials, and more based on your score.
