The Only Wireless, Open-Back Headphones in the World
For over three years, I’ve been on the hunt for wireless headphones with an open design for my gaming setup. To my frustration, this combination seemed nonexistent or undesirable in the market.
Or so I thought!
Eventually, I settled for the ASTRO A50, which is an excellent gaming headset. Though it’s not fully open, it’s reasonably close, but there’s still that slight sound attenuation which was mildly annoying.
I really dislike hearing myself sound unnatural when I talk, and effective communication is crucial in gaming. Whether it’s in-game voice chat, Discord, or TeamSpeak, clear and natural audio is essential.
Discovering the Hifiman DEVA PRO
Then, I stumbled upon the Hifiman DEVA PRO in a video review. The reviewer was highly impressed with its build quality, sound performance, comfort, and affordability. They also noted its open design and the option for wireless use via a Bluetooth adapter.
This immediately caught my interest. I began digging deeper, reading numerous reviews and test reports.
Unlike most gaming headsets that use a 2.4 GHz connection via a dongle, the Hifiman DEVA PRO comes with a small Bluetooth adapter you attach where the headphone cable usually goes.
You just need a Bluetooth-enabled PC or laptop. Since my motherboard lacks Bluetooth support, I had to buy a Bluetooth dongle.
Thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 support and current codecs, there’s no significant latency—no more than typical wireless connections.
My Experience with the Hifiman DEVA PRO
Since getting the Hifiman DEVA PRO, I’ve been extremely happy. I finally enjoy the perks of a wireless connection with a truly open design.
And by the way, the sound quality is phenomenal. Reviews across the board praise it, especially considering the price, which competes with high-end devices.
